Local volunteers in Ohio were surprised and disgusted on Tuesday morning to find a large pile of manure left in front of the Warren County Democratic Party headquarters.

“I think it was totally disgusting what these people did,” Kim Bergman told WRGT-TV. “I’m kinda shocked that someone would go to that extreme.”

The Democrats have filed a criminal damaging report and the incident is being investigated by the sheriff’s office. If found, the suspect could face trespassing and intimidation charges.

Dozens of Democratic party signs have also been stolen, according to the local party.

“It’s really unfortunate that people can’t have respectful disagreements… We’re not going to be discouraged by it. It’s just very disappointing. It will probably motivate our people even more but it’s also a very disrespectful thing to do,” Warren County Democratic chair Beth Goldenfield told WKRC Cincinnati.
