Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told reporters Tuesday evening he was “very pleased” with his campaign, as he prepared to receive the results of Tuesday’s election.

“I feel like we put it all on the field,” Romney said onboard a bus taking him to Boston, Massachusetts, where a fleet of private jets has arrived for his election night party. “We left nothing in the locker room. We fought ’til the very end and I think that’s why we’ll be successful.”

Romney also said he has written a 1,118-word long victory speech, though he admitted it was sure to change, should he have the chance to deliver it, after being reviewed by his family and advisors.

“I’ve only written one speech at this point,” the former governor of Massachusetts said.
