Major flood sweeps through Venice

Heavy rains that hit Italy this weekend rained down on Venice especially hard, flooding the famous canal city.

It’s one of six major floods to hit Venice since 1872.

About 70 percent of the city is covered in the flood. Tourists and residents had to wade through knee-deep water, and outdoor cafe tables are almost completely submerged.
