A woman in Florida says that God told her to drive 100 mph in a 30-mph zone while blowing her horn at 1 a.m on Tuesday morning.

Officers in Fort Pierce observed 41-year-old Melissa Miller driving a silver Toyota south on U.S. 1 with her arm out the window and blowing her horn for 10 seconds, according to a police report obtained by WPTV. The car allegedly increased speed before later coming to a stop on Virginia Avenue.

Miller told officers that she was driving so fast “because I was letting the Lord spirit guide me,” the report said. The woman also insisted that the excessive horn blowing was due to “the Lord telling me to do it.”

“Yes, 100 mph,” she reportedly replied when officers asked her how fast she was driving.

Miller faces charges of reckless driving, speeding and violating probation on an earlier conviction for leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. She was being held at the St. Lucie County Jail in lieu of $375 bail.
