Colbert tells women how to win the ‘War on Men’

Women don’t need to do more to attract the right guy, Stephen Colbert said Wednesday, they need to do less.

“Maybe stop voting. Or stop talking — that’s mysterious,” he offered. “I mean, what are you girls thinking?”

What women need to do, he said, is follow the advice of Fox News contributor Suzanne Venker, whose recent column, “The War On Men,” bemoaned the lack of “marriageable men” while pointing to a study saying that an increase in women looking to get married was accompanied by a decreasing interest from guys.

“That’s from the same researchers who found that women tend to scratch their balls less than men,” Colbert noted approvingly.

Venker, whose aunt, Phyllis Schlafly, is a longtime conservative activist, has attracted criticism for calling on women to “surrender to their nature — their femininity,” and accusing them of being “angry and defensive” and scaring guys away, but the Colbert Report host stuck by her.

“Women are angry and defensive. You need proof?” he challenged. “Go up to any single woman and say, ‘The reason you’re not married is because you’re angry and defensive.’”
