A Florida man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly leaving his pit bull dog to watch over an infant while he watched football and got drunk at a nearby bar.

James R. Irvine, 41, was charged with child neglect on Saturday after the mother of a 10-month-old child called police to report that she’d found him urinating on himself as he attempted to re-enter his home, according to NBC Miami.

The Palm Coast resident allegedly told her later that he’d had a few drinks, and a bartender reportedly confirmed to police he’d consumed Corona and Bud Lite.

He reportedly added that the child was not left alone because his pit bull was nearby keeping watch.
