Actor Charlie Sheen is offering a non-apology apology for a homophobic slur he recently hurled at night club customers and is blaming the entire incident on his “lisp.”

At this opening of his new night bar, The Goose, in the Mexican resort area of Los Cabos over the weekend, TMZ reported that Sheen warmed up the crowd by asking, “How we doing?”

After the audience responded with a lukewarm cheer, Sheen shouted, “Lying bunch of faggot assholes! How we doing?”

“Welcome to Sheenz with a ‘z.’ When I say Sheenz, you say, ‘With a z!’” he continued. “You guys suck!”

After video of Sheen’s remarks were posted on the Internet, the Anger Management actor told TMZ that he “meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one.”

“I apologize if I offended anyone,” he added. “I meant to say maggot but I have a lisp.”

Prior to the his comments at the bar, Sheen tweeted a photo of himself with his arm around a Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

“From Boyle Heights 2 Mayor of LA..! …. Antonio Villaraigosa knows how to party!” he wrote just after 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.

A spokesperson for Villaraigosa later told TMZ that the mayor had “no comment” about Sheen’s anti-LGBT slur.

Sheen’s tweet had been deleted by the time of publication.
