A South Carolina restaurant has drawn attention onto itself after a reporter took a picture of an employee wearing a shirt bearing the slogan, “How to catch an illegal immigrant” over a box trap with a taco inside.
The photo, which was taken and posted online by Columbia Free Times reporter Corey Hutchins on Sunday, shows an employee at Taco Cid wearing the shirt while apparently on duty.
Think Progress confirmed
with an employee that workers there wear the shirt, which can also be purchased by customers. It appears to be based off of a design listed on Be Wild.com as part of a section called “offensive obscene & sex related tees.”
According to the Palmetto Public Record, Taco Cid, formerly a chain of restaurants around the state, is now down to one location in Columbia.

Update: Hutchins contacted The Raw Story after publication of this story and said the picture of the shirt was taken by photographer Nathan Sloan. Sloan told The Huffington Post that the employee wearing the shirt was standing at the restaurant’s front counter.
