Sri Lanka’s sacked chief justice Shirani Bandaranayake vacated her official residence in Colombo Tuesday, saying she feared for her life and that of her husband and son.

“My life is in danger. The lives of all three of us are in danger,” Bandaranayake told reporters as she drove out. “I was not allowed to say my goodbye to the people I worked with at the Supreme Court for over 16 years.”
