Bangs craze ignited by Michelle Obama thwarts Jon Stewart’s inauguration coverage
On his show Monday night, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart poked fun at America’s apparent obsession with First Lady Michelle Obama’s fashionable new hairdo.
On inauguration day, Stewart noted that “just as feared, Obama came out as a liberal.” The President called for action on climate change, acceptance of gay and lesbian Americans, and defended the country’s safety net programs like Social Security.
“And one last thing, I want to make this clear,” Stewart jokingly said, imitating Obama. “My health care plan is designed to kill your white grandmother.”
But while Stewart tried to extract coverage of inauguration day from his team of correspondents, he quickly learned Michelle’s new “ba-ba-ba-bangs” was all the country was concerned about.
