A 24-year-old man was arrested on Friday in connection with a “road rage” incident in Australia that degenerated into a bloody fistfight.

The Australian reported on Saturday that the unidentified man was charged with assaulting a 50-year-old driver near the Chevron Island Bridge on the country’s Gold Coast on March 30.

Video captured by a nearby motorist, Cameron Parker, shows the man approaching the man’s car from the driver’s side and swinging a skateboard as the driver opened the door. The two men then start swinging wildly at one another before wrestling to the ground.

“When I saw the guy grab up his skateboard and about to fling it, I mean, I heard the thump from inside my car,” Parker told RTV.

Both men can be seen bleeding after standing back up. The skateboarder approaches Russell’s car, which was stopped behind the fight, before returning to the other driver’s vehicle and breaking one of his taillights. The two men had allegedly gotten into altercations elsewhere along the road that same day.

The suspect is due back in court on April 15.
