A man in California killed himself on Wednesday after shooting an exotic dancer in the face because she would not perform for him.

Police in Rialto said that they were called to the Spearmint Rhino Club at around 7:20 p.m. and found two people shot. According to KABC, a man “wanted a relationship with a dancer,” but the woman refused. A KNBC report said that the woman had declined the man’s invitation to go with him to a private room.

After being rejected, the man reportedly shot the woman, who is in her 20s, in the face, and then turned the gun on himself.

The woman was listed in critical condition at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The man’s gunshot wound was fatal.

KCAL reported that the man “allegedly said something about spending a lot of money on her in the past year — he was supposedly a daily customer.”

KCAL was also told by a friend of the victim that the man had been obsessed with the dancer.

The Spearmint Rhino Club does not screen customers for weapons, according to police.
