An 82-year-old Chicago woman and mother of seven was found lying in her closet on on Mother’s Day, beaten to death.

Just one day prior, Catherine Glenn was celebrating her birthday with Cathy, her 29-year-old daughter, according to The Chicago Tribune.

Her body was found the next morning, and coroners said it showed signs of blunt force trauma but the cause of death has yet to be determined.

“I can say this is the worst Mother’s Day ever,” Cathy Glenn told a reporter with CBS Chicago. “She was the most beautiful lady inside and out. She was a wonderful Christian lady, she would help anyone in need.”

Authorities are questioning one of Glenn’s family members about the incident, but no suspect has been named.

This video is from CBS Chicago, aired Monday, May 13, 2013.
