U.K. newspaper The Daily Mirror has released exclusive, gripping video of the moment police gunned down the two men who murdered British soldier Lee Rigby, 25, in the south London district of Woolwich on Wednesday.

Apparently, Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale, 22, had planned to murder the soldier, then attack and kill the first police personnel to respond to the scene.

In the video, the two men can be seen charging at the police before shots ring out and both attackers fall to the ground. Both men are still alive and in custody.

According to the Mirror, officers were taken by surprise when the two men charged them. The police vehicle’s driver was unable to unholster her gun in time, but another colleague, armed with a machine-gun, fired from a rear window, striking Adebolajo.

Former Detective Chief Inspector Peter Kirkham told the Mirror, “I have never seen anything like this before, or even heard of it happening. For two suspects to carry out a brutal attack like this then stand around in plain sight waiting for the police is crazy.”
