Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is currently bracing for a possible tornado impact, KFOR-TV reported on Friday.

NBC News reported that a tornado was spotted in Canadian County early Friday evening. Weather forecasters predict several “supercell” thunderstorms will hit the state.

Update, 8:17 p.m. EST: The Associated Press reported that the National Weather Service has issued a tornado emergency notice for metropolitan Oklahoma City. Passengers at Will Rogers World Airport have been moved to underground tunnels and flight traffic going into and out of the area has been canceled.

Update, 8:51 p.m. EST: KFOR reported that a tornado has been spotted on the ground on the west side of Moore, Oklahoma, where 24 people were killed because of a tornado on May 20.

The National Weather Service also issued a tornado warning for central St. Charles County and northern St. Louis County in Missouri.

Update, 9:08 p.m. EST: KFOR reported that 40,000 Oklahoma City residents are without power at this time.

Update, 9:52 p.m. EST: MSNBC reported that two deaths have been confirmed as the Oklahoma City tornado. An unidentified woman and her child were killed.
