A Republican county official in Illinois called a black woman candidate for the House of Representatives a “love child” of the Democratic Party and accused her of being a “street-walker” whose “pimps” are party leaders. According to the St. Louis Dispatch, Montgomery County GOP Chairman Jim Allen made the statements in an email in which he went on to say that after the election, candidate Erika Harold will end up “working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires.”
Allen was writing to a Republican website about Harold, who is a former Miss America and Harvard-educated attorney. She is running for the Republican nomination for Illinois Congressional District 13, which encompasses Champaign, Illinois and eastern Chicago. Allen supports her opponent, incumbent Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville).
“Rodney Davis will win and the love child of the D.N.C. will be back in Shitcago by May of 2014 working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires,” Allen wrote to the blog Republican News Watch. “The truth is Nancy Pelosi and the DEMOCRAT party want this seat. So they called RINO Timmy Johnson to be their pack mule and get little queen to run.”
Allen went on to call Harold “little queen” and discussed the former Miss Illinois’ abstinence message for teenagers, “The little queen touts her abstinence and she won the crown because she got bullied in school,,,boohoo..kids are cruel, life sucks and you move on..Now, miss queen is being used like a street walker and her pimps are the DEMOCRAT PARTY and RINO REPUBLICANS…These pimps want something they can’t get,,, the seat held by a conservative REPUBLICAN Rodney Davis and Nancy Pelosi can’t stand it..” [Ed. note: Grammatical errors and typos are reproduced from Allen's email.]
Chicago attorney and former state GOP General Counsel Doug Ibendahl of Republican News Watch ran the full email on the site with a note that read, “To understand why the Illinois Republican Party keeps losing elections – look no further than the racist rant (copied below) from a GOP party official.”
