Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) joked on Wednesday that he was “lobbying to become an illegal immigrant” so that he would not be eligible to participate in President Barack Obama’s health care reform law.

On his Wednesday radio show, Glenn Beck warned his listeners that comprehensive immigration reform would make all Americans into “second-class citizens.”

Beck said that he invited Rand Paul on the show because the lawmaker was fighting “the rush to create a second-class citizen, and that second-class citizen is you! Because you won’t have the same rights as new — quote — immigrants.”

“I’m thinking about lobbying to become an illegal immigrant so I wouldn’t have to participate in Obamacare,” Paul quipped.

“Is that amazing?” Beck gasped.
