A 32-year-old Virginia woman was arrested on Saturday and charged with felony child neglect in the death of her 8-month-old son, WRC-TV reported.

Zoraida Magali Conde Hernandez was being held at the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond. Authorities said Hernandez drove the boy to work with her but forgot he was in the backseat, leaving him inside as temperatures rose to about 90 degrees during the day.

She reportedly did not realize her mistake until she was on her way home, at which point she took the boy to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident was the second such child death in the region on Friday; a 16-month-old girl, Sabriya Towels, also died after allegedly being left inside a vehicle by an unidentified relative, who took a nap for four hours with her inside.

Watch a report from WUSA-TV on both incidents, aired Friday, below.
