The thought of more Americans getting health care options was enough for 700 Club host Pat Robertson to call for a revolution on Wednesday, citing the recent overthrow of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi as an inspiration.

“You know, they revolted in Egypt against the oppressive actions of the Muslim Brotherhood,” Robertson said, before turning his attention to the Affordable Care Act, aka “Obamacare.” “This example of state socialism is something that Americans should rise up against.”

The law, which went into effect in March 2010, has held up despite two challenges submitted to the Supreme Court and multiple failed repeal attempts by Republican lawmakers, both facts Robertson ignored.

“They snuck that thing by us,” the former GOP presidential candidate argued. “It was strictly a partisan initiative.”

He then repeated a common conservative complaint over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s March 2010 remark that, “we have to pass it to find out what’s in it,” while omitting her explanation preceding that statement, in which she said, “You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket.”

“Twenty-six, 2700 pages of gobbledygook, and look what’s happening,” Robertson spat on Wednesday, not mentioning that data published in February 2013 showed the law saving seniors like him $5.7 billion on prescription drugs since taking effect. A requirement that businesses with more than 50 employees provide each of them with health insurance has been delayed until 2015.

The uprising in Egypt against Morsi, culminating in his removal from office on July 3, has resulted in the deaths of at least 51 people on Monday alone.
