In a segment aired Wednesday night, talk show host Conan O’Brien cut together some footage of people reacting to conservative commentator Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s recent announcement that she’s leaving ABC’s daytime talk show “The View.”
The footage started honestly, but as soon as she made her announcement it cut to clips of people cheering all around the world, from the U.S. to Tahrir Square, and even on the distant planet Naboo and the moon Endor — yes, he borrowed clips from “The Phantom Menace” and “Return of the Jedi.” But at least C-3PO looked happy.
“Wow, C-3PO hates Elisabeth Hasselbeck,” Conan said.
“It’s purely political,” co-host Andy Richter added.
This video is from “Conan,” aired Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
