Real Time host Bill Maher admitted to being a minority owner of the New York Mets in an interview Tuesday with David Letterman, which brought along some perks.

“Still and all, you get free tickets, right?” Letterman asked.

“Better than being a minority in Florida,” Maher responded, a reference to the July 13 acquittal of George Zimmerman for his role in the slaying of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, and drawing boos from the crowd.

“Why are they booing?” Maher asked the Late Show host, who deadpanned, “I just got here.”

Maher, whose Mets hosted the Major League Baseball All-Star Game that day, also told Letterman he got to take in the Home Run Derby exhibition on Monday, won by Oakland Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.

“It was great to see these roided-up monsters hit it into row ZZZ,” Maher told Letterman. “The Levitra sign lights up. I love the game, that’s why I did this.”

More than a dozen players, including New York Yankees third baseman and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun, are under investigation for their connections to Biogenesis, a Florida clinic linked to the distribution of performance-enhancing drugs.

Maher and Letterman also shared a joke over their interview being taped before the game actually started.

“What a game it was,” Maher noted, drolly. The American League would win the contest 3-0, securing home-field advantage for its representative in the World Series.

“I enjoy any game played on grass,” Maher said.
