A Seattle bus driver was hospitalized with “non life-threatening” injuries on Monday after an unidentified man opened fire on him during his route, KOMO-TV reported.
One witness told KOMO the man was arguing with the 67-year-old driver over a fare before allegedly pulling out a gun and shooting, hitting the driver.
Local police said online that the suspected shooter stayed onboard the bus momentarily before attempting to escape on foot through the downtown area. Authorities quickly caught up to him and shot him. It is not clear whether the man fired on them first.
The suspected shooter was also hospitalized and was listed in critical condition.
