A libertarian-leaning Republican in Congress warned Tuesday that the focus on the Obama administration’s role in the Benghazi tragedy was distracting people from the bigger “bipartisan scandal” behind the incident.

Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan tweeted:

Republicans continue to seek evidence that the Obama administration attempted to cover up last year’s Benghazi tragedy. Last week, Rep Darrell Issa (R-CA) demanded State Department officials turn over emails related to the aftermath of the incident.

[Note: An earlier report misinterpreted Amash's tweet as referring to the NSA as the "bipartisan scandal." The story has been updated based on Justin Amash's clarification.]
