Amid all of the grim news from around the world, it is important to take a moment from time to time (particularly on a Friday afternoon) to hit your brain’s “refresh” button by watching something completely adorable on video.

We at the Raw Story Cuteness Desk feel that today’s spate of extra-unpleasant news from Syria and beyond warranted a double dose of “OMG ADORABLE” in the form of the Dallas, TX Zoo’s two new cheetah cubs, Winspear and Kamau.

According to the Associated Press, the brothers were born on July 8 at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Virginia. Zookeepers have introduced them to an 8-week-old black Labrador puppy named Amani who will be their playmate, and whose presence will calm them in their first few weeks away from their mother.

“Since Labs are easygoing in public settings and since the pup will grow with the cubs,” said the AP, “zoo experts believe he’ll provide a calming influence for the cats.”

We have also included video of two of the Cincinnati Zoo’s cheetah cubs playing with puppies because at Raw Story, we’re givers like that.
