Eight undocumented immigrants and two Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials were injured Tuesday morning when their van blew a tire and rolled off the highway in south Texas, KGBT-TV reported.

The accident occurred as the immigrants from Honduras were being taken from the Port Isabel Detention Center to the Coastal Bend Detention Center near Corpus Christi, where they were to be processed for deportation and a flight back to their country of birth.

According to KZTV-TV, two of the immigrants were hospitalized in critical condition after being ejected from the van. The rest of the passengers were listed in stable condition.

Immigration officials said in a statement that the Texas Department of Public Safety was investigating the incident.
