Russian authorities in the port city of Rostov-on-Don say that, over the weekend, an argument about the German philosopher Immanuel Kant ended in gunplay.
According to a police spokeswoman, Viktoria Safarova, the men were waiting in line to buy beer on Sunday when they struck up a conversation about the eighteenth-century Enlightenment philosopher. The discussion quickly deteriorated into a fistfight. One of them then pulled out a “small, non-lethal pistol and fired repeatedly.”
The victim was hospitalized, but the alleged shooter wasn’t apprehended.
Authorities are unclear as to which of Kant’s theories was responsible for the shooting.
