A Colorado woman is accused of beating to death a homeless man she suspected of molesting a child.

Police said 33-year-old Forsythia Owen admitted to killing Denzel Rainey after a child told her the man had sexually abused her.

The 42-year-old Rainey’s body was found early Sunday in an Englewood, Colo., alley with head lacerations and a fractured skull.

Both of Rainey’s arms, six ribs and his left hand were also broken, investigators said.

He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

According to court documents, Owen told police she’d beaten Rainey to death with a baseball bat after she learned of the molestation and went to the alley where he slept.

Rainey’s widow said her husband had been struggling with alcohol abuse and recently became homeless.

She said he would never have hurt a child.

Owen was charged with first-degree murder and remains held without bond at Arapahoe County Detention Facility.
