Talk radio host Glenn Beck urged his listeners Wednesday to forcibly push their children against a wall to teach them how their rights are granted.
Beck explained at length that the Bill of Rights had been written to show that individual rights are granted by God, not government, and ended the segment by encouraging his audience to ask their children about their rights that night at dinner.
“What gives you the right?” Beck told them to ask, before encouraging his listeners to challenge their children.
“Teach them a lesson,” he said. “Push them.”
His voice rose in volume and intensity as he made it clear that he meant to literally push the children.
“They’re going to cry, ‘I’ll hurt their feeling,’” Beck said, nearly shouting.
“Push ‘em! Because if you don’t do it now, it’s going to be much worse when they’re pushed and they’re shoved and they’re shot. Push them! Teach them! They need to know the truth, and they need to be pushed up against the wall once in a while so they know they can defend themselves.”
Beck said doing this would teach children they are able to survive hardship, “so they don’t run like little girls crying at the drop of a hat. Push ‘em!”
