A Hartford weatherman learned not to eat things off the floor on Wednesday when he mistakenly at cat vomit thinking he was eating Grape-Nuts cereal.

During a morning news segment on WFSB, Scot Haney discovered something scattered around his studio desk and scooped some of the substance up in his hand.

“You left Grape-Nuts all over here,” a co-host pointed out.

At that point, Haney tossed the “Grape-Nuts” in his mouth.

“They’re a little soggy,” he observed. “They taste like shoes. I don’t think those were Grape-Nuts. I think that might be dog doody.”

Following a check on the traffic, Haney returned for his “Trending Now” segment.

“Ladies and gentlemen, those were not Grape-Nuts that I ate,” he explained. “I kept finding more and more on the floor and I thought it was Grape-Nuts because it looked just like it. My cat threw up and I must have stepped in it. And that’s what I ate.”

“I thought it was Grape-Nuts. I ate cat vomit! Right here on television!” Haney exclaimed. “It’s on the bottom of my shoe! And I thought it was Grape-Nuts and it’s cat vomit! I’m going to throw up!”

“That’s what’s trending now, Irene. I’m sick.”
