Two Russian cosmonauts on Saturday took the Olympic torch on its first-ever spacewalk after stepping out of the International Space Station three months ahead of the Sochi Winter Games.

Live footage aired on Russian state television showed Oleg Kotov carrying the unlit torch in his right hand while fellow cosmonaut Sergei Ryazansky recorded the historic event using a high-tech camera.
