As part of his promotional tour for Anchorman 2, comedian Will Ferrell hosted a North Dakota local newscast this past Saturday night.

Ferrell stayed in character throughout the broadcast, though the other onscreen talent often found it difficult to keep their composure as “Ron Burgundy” misbehaved:

He read, stiltingly, the teleprompter for stories on the arrival of a mall Santa and a trash fire that a local dumping company deposited in a parking lot. “Burgundy” also seemed to relish tossing the segment to the KX North Dakota Storm Center.

At one point, “Burgundy” complimented co-host Amber Schatz and asked if she was married. When she told him that she wasn’t, he replied, “Well I am, so don’t get any ideas.”
