73-year-old Russian Olympics torchbearer dies in Siberia after running relay leg

A torchbearer collapsed and died after taking part in the Olympic torch relay in the build-up to the Winter Games in Sochi, Russian media reported on Monday.

Vadim Gorbenko, 73, a former Greco-Roman wrestling coach, suffered a heart attack after running a leg of the relay in the eastern Siberian city of Kurgan on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital but doctors were unable to save him.
