A 35-year-old California man was arrested and jailed on $250,000 bond for allegedly threatening to eat his roommate, then killing her dog.

The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat reported that authorities found Alan Evans with blood on his hands inside the home he shared with the victim on Dec. 24.

The woman told Sonoma County sheriffs the suspect was speaking incoherently after coming home Tuesday night, then grabbed her head, pulled her hair and slapped her. She made her way to a neighbor’s home after Evans allegedly let her go, then went to get a knife and saying he was going to “eat her.”

While checking for another victim, authorities found the woman’s dog dead under Evans’ vehicle. He was charged with suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery, terrorist threats and cruelty to an animal.
