The hosts of Fox & Friends turned part of their interview with former Secretary of Defense Bob Gates into a so-called lightening round on Wednesday so that he could judge officials in President Barack Obama’s administration.

During the interview — which was an effort to sell his much-hyped book “Duty” — Gates clearly pleased Fox News host Steve Doocy by repeating the claim that Vice President Joe Biden had “been wrong on most significant foreign policy issues going back about four decades.”

“That’s going to hurt,” Doocy smiled.

But if the Fox News hosts were expecting any more dirt on Obama administration officials during their “lightening round” then they were sorely disappointed.

Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta? “Panetta’s a great guy. Very savvy politically. I think he did a great job at CIA.”

Former White House Advisor David Axelrod? “I didn’t have a lot of interaction with David. In the meetings I was in, mostly he just listened.”

White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett? “Valerie was never in any of our meetings… I literally never saw her in a meeting on national security.”

“Interesting,” Doocy concluded.
