Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) came to the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday packing heat.

As Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer” played, McConnell walked onto the stage holding a rifle over his head.

According to ABC News Senior Washington Correspondent Jeff Zeleny, the gun was presented to Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) as a “lifetime achievement award from the NRA.” The Oklahoma Republican has announced that he will retire at the end of this year.

Last year, Democrat opponent Alison Lundergan Grimes shared of photo of her firing a rifle and invited McConnell to go shooting.
