Former Lt. Col. Oliver North, a contributor on Fox News, said Friday at a conservative gathering that the Obama administration was treating U.S. soldiers like lab rats.

“The members of our armed forces and their families deserve better than being treated like laboratory rats in some radical social experiment,” he said during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

North also alleged that the Obama administration granted more constitutional rights to enemies than to U.S. troops.

The Obama administration supported the repeal of the military ban on openly gay and lesbian service members known as “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” The administration has also opened combat units in the U.S. military to women.

North, the former Marine implicated in the Iran-Contra scandal, has previously described allowing openly gay and lesbian people to serve in the military as a “radical social experiment” in 2010.
