American Family Association spokesperson Bryan Fischer railed against GOP House members on Friday for choosing to support an expanded immigration policy, Right Wing Watch reported.

“The Republican leadership, the [House Speaker] John Boehners (R-OH), the [Rep.] Paul Ryans (R-WI), the [Rep.] Renee Ellmers (R-NC) — I’m not saying they’ve done this on other issues, I want to be very clear on that,” Fischer explained. “I’m just talking on immigration. On immigration, they have made a Faustian bargain with the devil, selling out our culture, selling out our border security, selling out our national sovereignty, selling out American workers, who are getting aced out on jobs by these illegals who have no right even to live in this country.”

As Politico reported earlier this week, Ellmers has come under fire by conservatives after being accused by radio host Laura Ingraham of supporting “amnesty” for undocumented immigrants. Ellmers subsequently accused Ingraham of harboring an “ignorant” position on the issue.

For his part, Ryan reportedly told a young immigrant that, despite his opposition to a bipartisan Senate bill introduced last year, that reform “is going to get done, because it has to get done.” And Boehner signaled his support last month for an eventual path to citizenship.

“They have sold their souls to the devil for a mess of pottage on the issue of immigration,” Fischer said on Friday.
