A fringe independent U.S. candidate from Iowa is encouraging voters to support him by showing off his handgun, and threatening to “blow your balls off.”

In campaign advertisement posted to YouTube last week, Bob Quast highlights his support for the Second Amendment.

“If you are a sexual predator and sociopath who murdered my sister Lynette, and you come to my front door to do harm to my girls, I’m going to use my Glock to blow your balls off,” Quast says, flashing the handgun and a smile.

“Liberals like Bruce Braley want to restrict our gun rights, including this magazine with 15 bullets,” he adds.

Quast notes that voters should not confuse him with Iowa Republican candidate Joni Ernst, who recently released an ad about how she would use her experience castrating hogs to make the politicians in Washington “squeal.”

“Congressman Braley, you have nothing to fear as we are friendly folks here in Iowa,” Quast quips, again waving the gun at the camera. “Please accept my invitation for an open debate prior to our June 3rd primary. I will leave my gun at home.”

According to The Des Moines Register, Quast attempted to run as a Democrat, but fell 4,200 signatures short of the requirement to get on the ballot. He is now asking voters to write him in during the June 3 Democratic primary.
