A Florida man was arrested and charged with battery after beating his brother with marijuana plants pulled from the ground in their backyard.

Rodney Brown, 31, got into an argument with his brother, Jackie Brown, 33, causing neighbors to call police reporting a disturbance, according to WKMG.

Responding to the call, sheriff’s deputies were told by the older brother that Rodney had uprooted several marijuana plants as long as 3 feet and began hitting him in the face with them.

According to police, the younger Brown allowed them to search the property where they discovered additional plants growing in the house the brothers shared, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Rodney Brown was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery, cultivation of marijuana, and possession of marijuana over 20 grams.

He was later released on bond.
