In a Monday appearance on Fox News’ The Kelly File, conservative author Dinesh D’Souza made a twisted analogy about President Barack Obama’s relationship with the United States. When the Roots of Obama’s Rage author said that Obama sees the U.S. as a “serial killer or child molester,” Kelly accused him of going off “the deep end.”

According to Mediaite, D’Souza appeared promoting his new book, America: Imagine the World Without Her.

D’Souza — who plead guilty in federal court to charges of campaign finance violations last month — argued that when Obama promises to transform the nation, that he must first destroy the country that’s there.

“Obama really did mean that he wanted a fundamental transformation,” said D’Souza.

“What was it about America that he wanted to change?” Kelly asked.

Obama, D’Souza said, comes from a generation who were trained to believe that the U.S. is “evil.”

“You can say this group believes in American Exceptionalism, but instead of believing that we’re exceptionally good, they believe we’re exceptionally evil,” he said.

Kelly played devil’s advocate, protesting that if Obama didn’t love the U.S., “Why would he want to be president of it?”

“It’s not that he hates America,” D’Souza said. “It’s not like he wants to take America down. It’s almost like this: If I was in a family and I believed my dad was some kind of a serial killer or a child molester, I would still love him. He would still be part of my family, but I’d do everything I could to prevent him from doing these evil actions.”

He continued, “I would think that would be good for the world and for my dad. So with Obama, he believes he’s doing the world a favor and America a favor by controlling this rogue elephant that is the United States.”

Kelly asked, “So America is the child molester in this scenario?”

“I’m just trying to follow, Dinesh,” she said, “I think we may have jumped off the deep end.”
