A New Jersey detective accidentally shot himself in the leg while using the bathroom in his office.

The detective, whose name was not released, is a 12-year veteran who works for the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office with the narcotics unit, reported the South Jersey Times.

A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said he could not confirm a report that the detective was seated or about to sit down when the shooting occurred.

The spokesman also said he didn’t know whether the gun was holstered when it accidentally fired.

The detective, who is expected to make a full recovery, has not been charged with any crime.

However, prosecutors are still reviewing what caused the gun to accidentally fire in the office restroom.
