A woman was struck in the face by a stray bullet while watching off-road racing in Texas.

Sheriff’s deputies in Hidalgo County said the woman was wounded Sunday evening at the “Mud Pits” in Pharr, where spectators are bused onto private property by off-road vehicles.

Two women leaving in a car flagged down a deputy patrolling the area, and the officer found one of the women with a gunshot wound to her face, reported KGBT-TV.

The woman said she heard several shots before she was hit by the stray bullet.

She was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several people have been questioned, but no arrests have been made in the case, which remains under investigation.

A Missouri woman was shot in the face by a stray bullet Friday during an Independence Day celebration.

She is also expected to recover from her injuries.
