Young Turks mock politicians’ high school yearbook photos
In a segment broadcast Tuesday, The Young Turks‘ Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian selected their favorite politicians’ high school yearbook photos, featured Tuesday in a post on BuzzFeed, and held them up for mockery as only Americans can.
On House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH): “God he looks creepy!” Cenk exclaimed. “Here’s the number of dates that guy had in high school: negative seven. Give him credit for losing some weight. Discredit for growing orange skin.”
On Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D): “Get it girl!” Ana said. “She looks beautiful there.”
On former Utah Governor John Huntsman (R): “Oh, this is unfortunate,” Cenk injected. “Huntsman. Oh man that hair sucks! Well, I guess it was Utah back in the day.”
On House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): “Is Nancy Pelosi 128-years-old?” Cenk asked. “That picture looks like it was taken in 1931. She’s like, ‘Well, I survived the depression and still got a nice haircut.’”
On former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R): “That’s the first picture of Mitt Romney I’ve seen where he isn’t obviously Mitt Romney,” Cenk said. “Every other picture, it looks like he’s a robot that has not aged. Makes you think he’s not human.”
On former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA): “Even back then he seemed like, ‘Um, guys, I don’t think we should have any fun,’” Cenk summarized.
On Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R): “This is the best one,” Cenk said. “This is the guy who turned into, ‘Let’s bash the unions!’ [...] You look at that — same thing with Boehner — and you get a sense of like, why they became the bitter, weird men that they are. That guy was so trying to be cool and wasn’t pulling it off.”
