Game of Thrones author: Breaking Bad’s ‘Walter White is a bigger monster than anyone’ on Game of Thrones
Responding to this week’s episode of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin wrote that the former school-teacher turned meth kingpin, Walter White, “is a bigger monster than anyone in Westeros.”
“I need to do something about that,” he added.
The latest episode of the acclaimed AMC drama, “Ozymandias,” not only scored its highest ratings ever, but it is quickly being acknowledge as its best, too. Even the show’s creator, Vince Gilligan, has told several outlets that he believes it’s the best episode in the show’s entire run.
Many, including the chair of the A.V. Club’s Internet Film School, take issue with Martin’s claim.
While not minimizing the severity of Walter White’s actions, his sins seem far less severe than, to take but one example, those of Game of Thrones‘s King Joffrey, a child whose commitment to sadism belies his years.
However, fans of both series agree that the events in “Ozymandias” are comparable to those in Game of Thrones now-infamous “Red Wedding.”
