SNL, Alec Baldwin mock GOP debates, candidates

Guest host Alec Baldwin and the cast of Saturday Night Live opened the show’s 37th season with a parody of the on-going Republican presidential debates between Rick Perry (played by Baldwin), Mitt Romney and “six other people who’ll never be president, but showed up anyway.”

SNL regular Bill Hader, playing Fox News’ Shep Smith, opened the debate by apologizing for “the responses from previous audiences who booed a solider, cheered executions and applauded the death of an uninsured man. It was inappropriate.”

In an otherwise amusing skit, Taran Killan’s impression of John Huntsman’s impression of a Chinese man was offensive.
