Researchers at the University of London found the elements of a song that make them a singalong hit and have declared Queen’s We are the Champions as the world’s catchiest song.
The key elements to a catchy song are: long and detailed musical phrases, multi-pitch changes in a song’s “hook”, male vocalists and higher male voices making a noticeable vocal effort.
Using these four elements, the researchers determined that YMCA by the Village People was the second most catchiest song.
