Stephen Colbert returned Tuesday evening from his two-week break and was eager to talk about how GOP presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney doesn’t mind having the presence of celebrity birther Donald Trump around him.
On the latest installment of The Colbert Report, the Comedy Central host analyzed the block of voters Romney would need to win that Trump’s presence could give him.
“He’s got to reach out to the 911 truthers,” Colbert said. “The alien abductees, the doomsday prepers, the sasquatch hunters, the sasquatch, or sasquatches. Shit! That’s only 50 percent, how does he get that tiny sliver, that’s going to be tough. Who represents such a miniscule portion of Americans?
“Wait, I’ve got it! All Mitt needs are the blacks who like Donald Trump.”
Colbert then proceeded to play the clip of the latest season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice, in which black comedian and actor Arsenio Hall was the winner.
“50.1!” Colbert shouted. “50.1! Mitt, you’re hired!”
