Florida locals complain as Donald Trump Jr and Kimberly Guilfoyle prepare to move in: report
January 19, 2021
On Tuesday, The Palm Beach Post reported that residents of Admirals Cove, an exclusive gated waterfront community in Jupiter, Florida, are complaining and expressing concerns after Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle purchased a pair of homes in the area.
"When word spread that the couple had contracts to purchase the two homes on adjacent lots in the community, about 30 residents contacted Peter Moore, general manager of the property owners association," reported Christine Stapleton and Alexandra Clough. "'About half have concerns about safety,' Moore said. 'The others have political concerns with what's happened in the last couple of weeks.'"
<p><span></span>One resident wrote, "There are news reports detailing <a href="https://www.rawstory.com/2020/10/new-report-reveals-salacious-details-of-harassment-scandal-that-drove-kimberly-guilfoyle-out-of-fox/" target="_blank">improper behavior</a> by Ms. Guilfoyle while employed at Fox News and news reports of possible criminal investigations of Donald Trump Jr. I believe their membership would bring undesirable notoriety to the club, harm our reputation and have the potential for creating disharmony."</p><p>This comes after other <a href="https://www.salon.com/2020/12/16/palm-beach-residents-are-trying-to-bar-trump-from-returning-to-mar-a-lago_partner/" target="_blank">reports</a> that locals in Palm Beach are attempting to invoke a local law to bar outgoing President Donald Trump from living at Mar-a-Lago, claiming that he forfeited the right to use it as a residence when he established it as a private club.</p>

Milwaukee newspaper crushes Sen. Ron Johnson by fact-checking his response to its resignation demand
January 19, 2021
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson tried his hand today at picking a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel. It didn't go so well.
In a rather extraordinary move, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel offered Johnson space to respond to its editorial calling for his resignation, only to annotate his commentary with no less than 19 footnotes. Suffice it to say the fact-checking in response to his response was brutal.
<p> <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/in-depth/news/solutions/2021/01/19/sen-ron-johnson-calls-editorial-unhinged-editorial-board-responds/4204754001/?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot" target="_blank">Here it is.</a></p>
<p> On January 7, <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/solutions/2021/01/07/ron-johnson-scott-fitzgerald-tom-tiffany-must-resign-expelled/6585447002/" target="_blank">the newspaper had editorialized</a> that Johnson and Wisconsin Rep. Scott Fitzgerald and Tom Tiffany "resign or be expelled for siding with Trump against our republic" in their attempts to support his attempted coup. Johnson wasn't even spared by his ultimate decision not to vote to overturn the election results:</p>
<p> "But Johnson had been <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/elections/2021/01/02/ron-johnson-oppose-certifying-joe-bidens-electoral-college-win/4113042001/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">shilling for Trump and this moment </a>for days, adding kindling to the megalomaniac's fire, so his last-minute switch does nothing to absolve his role in stoking this shameful day in American history."<br/> </p><p> Johnson had taken up the Journal-Sentinel's kind offer for space to reply. He attacked the editorial as "unhinged and uninformed" and argued this:</p>
<p> "Among its many baseless charges, it accuses me of "inciting violence and an act of domestic terrorism," being "a leading member of the Senate Sedition Caucus," "stoking an insurrection," "violating my solemn oaths," being a racist (they must have overlooked my involvement with Milwaukee's <a href="https://www.ronjohnson.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2016/5/the-joseph-project-wi" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Joseph Project</a>) and "shilling for Trump" (apparently along with 74 million other Americans who voted for him)."</p>
<p> If Johnson thought that would be the last word, he was mistaken. That statement drew this footnote:</p>
<p> "Sen. Ron Johnson took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. In our system, the states certify Electoral College votes and Congress acknowledges the victor. Senators and representatives cannot overturn the will of citizen voters by rejecting a state's electoral votes.</p><p> "As for racism: Underlying the attack on the U.S. Capitol was a <a href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/solutions/2021/01/07/ron-johnson-scott-fitzgerald-tom-tiffany-must-resign-expelled/6585447002/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">"tribal fury against people targeted as scapegoats,"</a> we wrote, a fury President Donald Trump stoked repeatedly during his time in office. Johnson showed he was a willing accomplice in this shameful politics by repeatedly failing to adequately call out Trump's appeals to the worst prejudices in people."</p><p> Johnson didn't fare all that much better in the other 18 footnotes he drew for his response to the editorial. Suffice it to say he might have found a better venue than the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel to attack the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.</p><p> MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and Steve Schmidt of the Lincoln Project were among many on Twitter cheering on the newspaper for its real-time fact-checking:</p><p><br/></p>

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told TMZ that he won't be attending President Donald Trump's farewell at Joint Base Andrews.
Trump initially wanted a 21-gun salute and a military ceremony, but he will be holding a gathering of supporters outside in the Washington winter instead.
<p>
His friend and golfing buddy won't be there. Neither will his vice president. It's unclear if other officials will forego the inauguration ceremony to give Trump a send-off, but most officials have indicated that they're attending the Biden event.
</p><p>
Walking through the Washington airport proved difficult for Graham after he voted to authorize the 2020 Electoral College results. He was chased by Trump supporters shouting at him that he was a "traitor."
