The NRA is incorporated in New York, and the state's attorney general, Letitia James is seeking to dissolve the group. In response, the NRA is trying to restructure the organization as part of a move to Texas, where the apparently believe they will receive less scrutiny of potential lawbreaking.

National Rifle Association files for bankruptcy on final Friday of the Trump administration: report
January 15, 2021
Longtime GOP strategist Rick Wilson has received widespread praise for coining the term, "everything Trump touches dies."
The four-word analysis explains how Trump has a history of harming everyone around him.
<p>And that term may now apply to the National Rifle Association, which was one of the most powerful political organizations in America before it backed Trump during the 2016 campaign.</p><p>"The National Rifle Association of America ("NRA") today announced it will restructure the Association as a Texas nonprofit to exit what it believes is a corrupt political and regulatory environment in New York," the NRA said in a <a href="https://www.nraforward.org/press-release" target="_blank">statement</a>. </p><p>"The Association will seek court approval to reincorporate the Association in the State of Texas – home to more than 400,000 NRA members and site of the 2021 NRA Annual Meeting in Houston," the NRA explained. <br/></p><p>New York Attorney General Letitia James announced in August she was seeking to dissolve the NRA.</p>

Trump’s Pentagon chief stuns reporters with ‘incoherent briefing’ in which he declares ‘I cannot wait to leave’
January 15, 2021
Reporters were stunned on Friday following a bizarre gaggle that acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller held with the press.
"I so…I mean, I cannot wait to leave this job, believe me," Miller said.
<p>Stephen Losey of the Air Force Times described it as "<a href="https://twitter.com/StephenLosey/status/1350173994658492416" target="_blank">the most epic case of senioritis ever</a>."</p><p>"Gobsmacking incoherent briefing from the US acting defence secretary, Chris Miller, today," Julian Borger, the world affairs editor for the Guardian, reported.</p><p>Borger noted the Pentagon transcript included the phrase, "blah blah bluh blah."</p><div class="rm-shortcode" data-rm-shortcode-id="9a94946fef0c20a3411d989b64450b3a" id="8730d"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet twitter-custom-tweet" data-partner="rebelmouse" data-twitter-tweet-id="1350162724861468673"><div style="margin:1em 0">Gobsmacking incoherent briefing from the US acting defence secretary, Chris Miller, today.

Declining population, single -- single source of economic revenue through natural resources.
