A Boston minister, the Rev. Eugene Rivers, talked with NBC's Meredith Vieira about the public reemergence of Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Rev. Rivers told Vieira, "As a pastor first, I want to say there are tens of thousands of church folk praying for Senator Obama who completely support what he said. He did the right thing. Frankly, he's to be commended, because what he did yesterday was courageous. It was forthright. It was clear and enormously difficult. Here is a man in the middle of a major challenge who had to disassociate himself, dealign himself from an individual that baptized his children and performed his marriage."
